Position summary:
The Parts Advisor is responsible for accurately identifying, sourcing, and fulfilling parts for customers and internal sales and service teams. This role is critical to maintaining efficient service operations and ensuring timely, accurate parts delivery.
Working closely with service, sales, and customers, the Parts Advisor drives parts sales, maintains organized and accurate inventory, and delivers a high level of customer service. Success in this role is measured by speed, accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers (walk-in, phone, online) with parts identification, pricing, and availability
- Process parts orders, quotes, and invoices accurately and efficiently
- Use catalogs and systems to ensure correct parts lookup and minimize errors
- Recommend related parts, attachments, and preventative maintenance items
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts with proper bin locations
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and organization
- Pull and stage parts for service work orders and communicate with technicians
- Order stock and emergency parts; track and follow up on backorders
- Handle returns, cores, and warranty parts in accordance with company processes
- Keep the parts department clean, organized, and operating efficiently
- Maintain high data integrity in all transactions; accuracy in ordering, inventory, and invoicing is critical
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge
- Prior parts, equipment, or automotive experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to identify parts and understand equipment systems
- Experience with ERP/DMS systems and parts lookup catalogs
- High attention to detail with accuracy in ordering, inventory, and data entry
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively with service and sales
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move parts up to 75 lbs., frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
- Capable of problem-solving and making sound decisions quickly
- Ability to operate forklifts or equipment preferred
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
